    Someone good at Math please give me proof that martindale fails.
    I argued with my friend who is up like a grand playing blackjack.

    He is starting with 50 betting 1 if he losses betting 2 4 8 16 32 blah blah we all know martindale.

    He has limits though. if he losses his 50 he quits obviously.

    also if he gets to 100 he quits and starts over from 50 again...

    Martindale is suicide right? the kid is up 1200 someone tell him that...he is 27-3 in races to 100 or 0 from 50.

    You've answered your own question. Limit and bankroll can throw a spanner in the works.

        Look it up on Wikipedia, it will work if you have unlimited money, but the amount of money you need to have vs. the amount of money you would profit is not worth the time.

            Check out the Labouchere system. It's best when used in -110 type lines. As for me, I like to bet a set % of my bankroll. As your bankroll increases, so will your bet size.

            Here is an example for the Labouchere system(from another forum):

            Let's say your bankroll is 2,000 Units. It's advised to place %2.5 of Bankroll.

            So the series are,

            50 50 50 50

            With a %50 winning rate,

            Stake = 50+50 =100
            Result = Lost

            50 50 50 50 100

            Bet = 150
            Result = Winner

            50 50 50

            Bet = 100
            Result = Lost

            50 50 50 100

            Bet = 150
            Result = Winner

            50 50

            Bet = 100
            Result = Lost

            50 50 100

            Bet = 150
            Result = Winner

            50

            Bet = 50
            Result = Lost

            50 50

            Bet = 100
            Result = Winner

            Series Completed!

            By going 4-4 (%50 winning percentage only) we made +200 units profit which is %10 of our bankroll. So it's a %10 increase in 8 days. What about after 32 days?

            2000 x 1.10 x 1.10 x 1.10 x 1.10 = 2928

            It means %50 incrase in bankroll after 32 days!

            PS: All odds are taken as 2,00 (EVEN) in this example. Profit will be little bit lower if we bet -110 odds. GL!

                I've never used it, but the OP wanted proof about Martingale. I gave him a better alternative

                Like I said earlier, I don't use that method, I use a certain % of my bankroll.
