    Question about parlays.
Hey all I am a newbie here as well as a newbie to the sports betting world. I bet on NFL and NCAAF games ATS. Went 5-3-1 in my first week of betting college football last week didn't feel good about most of the pro games so I didn't play them.

Anyway I have a question about parlays. When I pick teams for a parlay, do I factor in the point spreads or do they play as straight up wins/losses? +280 and -110 etc do these numbers factor in?

Also, does choosing underdogs for a parlay yield greater profits? For example if I played a parlay for last Sundays games for $50 choosing Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons in a parlay, what would I get paid?

    Thanks

Parlays can be played with a mix of money line and spread.

Of course underdogs increase the payout, but a 12-teamer of faves will most likely pay more than a 3-teamer of dogs. Not sure what you're getting at.

Should clarify, KG, since you claim to be a newbie to sports betting. My comparison above between the 12-teamer and 3-teamer is the ML (straight up). Underdogs on the money line (straight-up) increase the payout, but there isn't much difference taking the fave or dog on the spread (maybe a bit of juice on one side).

Yes, on the ML the lines determines the payout in parlay..a 2 team parlay of +135's will pay more then a 2 team parlay of -150's

alot of books don't pay "true" parlay odds on payout...you should do alot of research and understand all the math concepts first, visit the think tank and do a search.

I very rarely do parlays... maybe If I really really like 3 or 4 teams on a given day I might do a round robin of 2 team parlays with a small % of my bankroll.... somtimes when I dont' have much on the board that I like or don't have time to handicap I'll do a progressive parlay with 12 teams just for the action/entertainment.

but for the most part parlays are a gonna cause your bankroll to dwindle long-term...

Ok I was confused about the +200 and -110 etc numbers. Those are for straight up line bets.

          Thanks.
