emily, i played Goalie for 3 yrs. let me tell you something. i would sweat out 8 lbs of water after the game, while the players would sweat out like 5 lbs. you have no idea how intense it is to be between the pipes. first, you have on roughly 30 lbs of equipment. also, when there is pressure in your zone and around your crease for more than 40 seconds, you can't breathe. it's so stressful and rigorous, and you have to focus and cover your angles, etc.. trust me, if you play in nets for 1 game, you will collapse from exhaustion. toughest position in sports and no other position burns more calories in sports, including catcher. it's non stop and 1 mistake by you and you can cost yourself the game. you have to be very flexible and in tremendous shape to be a goalie, and have balls to face a puck coming at you at 120 mph.

I was a forward for 7 years before i changed to defense .. Played goalie for fun in a couple of mens leagues but nothing serious ..

I was exhausted after every goalie game i played compared to the others .. It is no joke and plus the nhl uses frozen pucks and the guys hit it over 100 mph is no joke

People say hitting a baseball at 90mph is hard but whenu have to face a 100 mph puck coming at u ita no joke .. Yeah u have equipment but it is still no easy task what so ever
