It's still early out here on the west coast so maybe I've missed something that broke overnight. But, I'd still like to know how Manti was "duped" since we were told that Manti MET (as in MET IN PERSON) Lennay in Palo Alto after a game against Stanford.

Also, his pops.....the controlling and big headed "Brian".......said Lennay went to hawaii a few times to spend time with Manti. How could pops be "duped" as well? Here's where I'm at. My company worked for Jack Swarbrick's law firm before he took the ND AD's job. On 2 different issues, I had to deal with him. He is gracious, he's a good guy. Swarbrick is also a very talented guy, he's smart, he understands the politics of issues, and he is honest.

I don't think he would risk his entire professional career on Manti Te'o unless he was 10000% convinced the kid was duped. Swarbrick stood in front of every media outlet last night and pushed all-in on the kid.

I just don't see Swarbrick doing that unless he believes in his heart that Te'o was telling them the truth.

Never underestimate the power of hero worship when it comes to athletes Sammy -- even among the powerful. Swarbrick could very well have a blind spot for this kid.

Te'o is a second-round level linebacker who is up on the charts because of his leadership and character.

Ray Lewis is overrated because of the intangibles -- always has been -- but Te'o is no Ray Lewis from a physical standpoint. Not even close. And that's coming from someone who's never believed Lewis was that good of a linebacker in the first place.
