Pennsylvania Kicks A.C. Off As #2 Gambling Market In US After Vegas

Pennsylvania has overtaken Atlantic City as the No. 2 U.S. gaming market after Las Vegas.

In 2012, Pennsylvania took in $3.16 billion from both slots and table-games revenue, according to figures released Wednesday by the state Gaming Control Board. Last week, the Shore resort reported $3.05 billion in casino revenue for 2012.

Yeah but you're talking about large casinos near many large population centers throughout the state. There's also synergy between AC and some of the Eastern PA Casinos.

I only go to Parx, besides for AC. Parx sucks, and it's the only casino around, so i still prefer to go to AC. Drinking,gambling,clubbing, shows all in one unified place. Pa has a race track and poker that's it, at least at Parx casino.

There was a time not too long ago this state didn't have gambling. Now it's #2 behind only Vegas.

Yeah it is and it's the main reason why I think Vegas is eventually doomed. Because casinos are going to start popping up locally in every state eventually, and there will simply be no need for people to go to a fukking desert to gamble in the manner they want to.

For example, what California decided to put a casino in San Diego? Who the fukk would leave San Diego to go to Vegas?

atlantic city is one of the biggest dumps i ever saw in my entire life. ive been there once and could care less about going back, even though borgata puts on some decent series throughout the year for poker. i would never go there to play blackjack or roulette.

See, maybe because I always went to AC, I have affection for it. The one thing it does have is atmosphere you can't get anywhere else. The city itself is an absolute mess, mostly thanks to the darkies.

But if you're staying at a casino you really don't have to worry about that. Even in Philly, the casinos here simply can't match the atmosphere AC has. The smell of the salt water, the bay breeze, the boardwalk, etc. etc.

That being said, it's been a while since I've been to AC since Philly opened it's own casinos. That's how I know Vegas is eventually doomed. Because I see it happening with AC.

the pennsylvania casinos have no real atmosphere like philly said.

you pretty much have slot machines tables and a poker room and some places have horses.

so right now, vegas has that over them, and they have sports betting and weather in the winter months.
