It's either he's a liar or he's a complete idiot and a liar. Even if he was completely fooled, only an idiot would have been, he talked about her after the date
He would have found out. I can understand not doing it before the title game, but he had 9 days after. So what is it? Liar, or idiot and liar.

Deadspin is going to eventually bury this cat. He got caught up in a web of lies and just continued to spin because it meant positive publicity in a Heisman Trophy race. Time is not going to be on Te'o's side, and Deadspin's not just going to let this slide. And if they don't get him, the NFL teams will. He should've just come clean and admitted to being a part of the hoax, which would've been awful enough. Instead he chose to lie one last time and it will only make things worse.

Apparently you guys missed the hard-hitting investigative journalistic piece this morning done by professional and beauty Shelley Smith.

I know the story would come across more titillating if Te'o was a gay Samoan, with a phony fake girlfriend, that he concocted as some kind of ruse, but the evidence doesn't support any of this. He was a victim from the onset, and now he is just embarrassed, as he should be.

There are a lot of guys like Manti te'o, I mean A LOT. Not just make believe girlfriends but real wives, girlfriends and children and who troll sites like craiglist M4M sections with captions like "discreet married gay man here to suck your balls dry". And this bothers me and should bother you too because these closeted homo have the potential to destroy the lives of countless people (wives, gfs, children) all because they refuse to accept the idea that they're gay .
Spot on. Homos do a lot of damage.

Manti always had that polesmoker look about him.

He may have lied in December a time or two, but big deal. What do you expect him to say at that point? "Oh, yeah, about my girlfriend that passed away, she was make-believe"?

He brought her up by himself. After that December 4th date. Don't ever use ESPN for real news.

"I don't like cancer at all. I lost both my grandparents and my girlfriend to cancer," Te'o said on Dec. 8, while talking to reporters in advance of the Heisman Trophy ceremony.

If he was truely a victim as most want us to believe why did he say this two days after he claimed he knew it was a hoax.

Dec. 8 in New York, ESPN's Chris Fowler asked Te'o what moment of his very public story of tragedy he would remember. "I think I'll never forget the time when I found out that, you know, my girlfriend passed away and the first person to run to my aid was my defensive coordinator, Coach [Bob] Diaco, and you know he said something very profound to me," Te'o said. "He said, 'This is where your faith is tested.' Right after that, I ran into the players' lounge and I got on the phone with my parents -- and I opened my eyes and my head coach was sitting right there. And so, you know, there are a hundred-plus people on our team and the defensive coordinator and our head coach took time to just go get one [of those players]. You know I think that was the most meaningful to me."

It may have started out as a hoax but he rode this train for all it's worth which is not only wrong but sick as hell.

What would you have preferred him to say, while the cameras are on him, and he's on live television talking to Chris Fowler? Ok fine. He told ND in late December (allegedly) so the story was for sure coming out. He had 9 days after the title game to say something. Nothing. I'm going to wait for the real investigative reporters to get all the details figured out because there's a lot that we are missing I feel. ESPN has no credibility with this kind of stuff.

Manti Te'o quietly began dating an actual living, breathing female human being ... shortly after he learned "Lennay Kekua" had died from cancer ... and the rebound chick is HOT ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Manti tell us ... the Notre Dame star met Alexandra del Pilar the weekend of November 10 -- when Notre Dame played Boston College.

Alexandra, 21, is a student at St. Mary's College in Indiana -- which is close to Notre Dame.

We're told Alexandra and Manti dated for nearly 2 months, but broke up recently.

There are rumors swirling that Manti created a fictitious GF to take the pressure off him from teammates and others who felt he should be dating, but his relationship with a real woman calls those rumors into doubt.

Glad to see it didn't take him long to get over the death of his beloved GF.
