    Lakers 14-1 v. Bulls 13-2
Lakers are up a game as opposed to where the Bulls stood during their 72-10 season after 15 games. The Bulls would not suffer their 3rd defeat until their record became 23-3. So the Lakers have to win the next 8 in a row to keep the pace. Still any non believers out there that think the Lakers cant beat the Bulls record win season?

You want to bet on it?

What do you think the fair odds on them setting the record are?

I give the Lakers about a 20% chance to break the record

If the Lakers can weather the front part of this, they will have a great shot. The Bulls did all the heavy lifting early. In the last 37 games, the Bulls went 30-7. They Lakers will not lose 7 games out of 37. This front part is where the Lakers need to maintain.

The Celtics were off to a great start last year and did not even come lose to the record. 25-7 is over a 60 win pace they could easily have a stretch worse than that.

I wrote the wrong number, it was over 37 games. The Bulls went 30-7. The Lakers are much younger and deeper than the Celtics of last year. Barring injury, if the Lakers stay focused, I think they can make a great run at it.

No one will win 70 ever
                again

Teams let up now and do not need to play starters much at end of year if way ahead

Yeah, phoenix is the only game that i think has a shot, but since it's in LA, I think the Lakers will be favored by 9 or more.

Thats the thing. The Lakers bench could be starters elsewhere. If they rest the starters, they still have Farmar, Ariza, and Odom coming off the bench. All 3 are almost averaging double digit points.

As long as the Celtics aren't in that stretch, they can do it.
