On paper, Florida is without a doubt better and more powerful than Alabama. I just can't discount Alabama with Nick Saban at the helm.. Remember Nick Saban has never had a year like this... It will be interesting

Too bad the BCS has two Big XII teams ahead of Florida (as they should). In general, the AP tends to be the most accurate poll. But if a hype bandwagon starts on a team then they are the first to start riding on it. Florida is this team currently.

Florida lost to unranked Ole Miss.
          Oklahoma lost to #3 Texas.
Texas lost to #7 Texas Tech.

          Ranked teams Florida has beaten:
          #16 Georgia
          #24 Florida State

          Ranked teams Oklahoma has beaten:
          #7 Texas Tech
          #11 TCU
          #13 Cincinnati
          #14 Oklahoma State

          Ranked teams Texas has beaten:
          #2 Oklahoma
          #14 Oklahoma State
          #20 Missouri

Please tell me again how the AP justifies putting Florida #2 ahead of OU/UT?

                Think of it this way...

Would you rather have undefeated #1 team coached by Nick Saban and get 10.5 points?

                (or)

Would you rather have the one loss #4 ranked team in the country coached by Urban Meyer and give away 10.5 points?

This one seems like a no-brainer to me.

Well, the poll "that really matters" has them at #4. I think any logical football fan has them at #4 as well until they can beat Alabama. Not sure why the AP poll matters here asfar as talking national championships to begin with.

And right behind that would be Saban's coaching ability.

Saban is just as hungry for this win as anyone. Before this season his best start ever was 7-0. I would watch out for what he has planned

                                I love Alabama initially here

                                10.5 is just ridiculous...

I'm only interested in how the line is perceived and where the line will move this week...

Should be a close game but I think Florida has too much offense and will wear them down.

Because Florida is the best team in the country RIGHT NOW, which is all that maters at this time of the year.

Alabama/Florida winner is definite. If Oklahoma wins, they are definite. If Missouri upsets Oklahoma, I like Texas's chances better than the rest.

they're in the same division I believe. same scenario in the SEC with east/west. They only get 1 game agaisnt divisional oponents. top team out of the east and west play for the SECC.

tie breaker b/t Texas/Oklahoma is the highest rated team in the BCS instead of the head to head game.
                                              Correct me if I'm wrong.
I think this will change next year though. I believe in every other conference the tie breaker is the head to head game.

oh wow, I thought they would play eachother again for the Big 12 title.

BCS needs a one off super college bowl badly.

This shit is worse than figure skating, with all the voting.

                                                very unamerican.

tie breaker b/t Texas/Oklahoma is the highest rated team in the BCS instead of the head to head game.

I think this will change next year though. I believe in every other conference the tie breaker is the head to head game.
The tiebreaker is head to head, but there's a three way tie with Texas Tech. The fifth tiebreaker is BCS ranking.

It's unfortunate that we couldn't get a rematch, but there are two divisions in the Big 12 and all the good teams are in the South this year.
