Field is short, DBs don't have to worry about getting beat deep, they can jump slants and quick outs. Lbs can play up tight, don't have to worry about deep pass drops. It is much harder to score. NFL defenses are fast in a small space. Offense either has to go straight ahead or get it to a big WR.

It is exponentially harder to gain 3 yards from inside the 5 then it is at midfield... do you really deny this?

I guess you will defend the prevent defense also. More than half the coaches do not know shit as you can tell by the way their team plays.
