Frankly, I think the Lakers have to have a lousy season "eventually" and not make the playoffs. This is the year, and when they'll find out that Steve Nash on point will never take the Lakers anywhere. He is too small, too slow, too old and has no business being in a league anywhere with the likes of Parker, Paul, Rondo, Lillard, Westbrook, etc. Nash is the #1 liability to the Lakers, plus they're banged up and are playing with Jamison and Peace who have each logged like 14 years in the NBA. You got Kobe with domestic issues, a new coach that is destined to fail, and the option to hack-a-Howard to the bank.

When a team loses close games ie. by 3 to SA, 7 to Den, 5 to LAC, 4 to Phil ... this is a very bad sign. Though the players are protecting their individual salaries and reputations and staying in all these games, they're not a team playing to win. Now if you want to bet this Laker team against last year's NBA finalist, who is 1 win behind the best record in the NBA, then I'll have to respectfully ask, "are you out of your cotton pickin minds?" I wouldn't take the Lakers tonight if they were +500 like they should be, just that there's so much Laker money, you think the Lakers at home as a 2:1 dog has got to be where you put your money.
