Geesh, never knew Oklahoma City to be famous for thunder storms.I guess 47 other continental USA states have as much thunder as Oklahoma does.At least name them the tornadoes because they are 2nd behind Kansas in that category.I heard the NBA frowns upon destructive team names where a hurricane, tornado or bullet could kill someone as was the case in DC when they banned the name bullet because the city is a shooting gallery.
Geesh,a multi millionaire spends multi millions on a team and comes up with a lame generic vanilla flavored name like Thunder where being in an isolated small market no one is going to buy their team merchandise at all. What is Oklahoma famous for?Oil gushers!!Why didn't they name the team the Gushers?Da!It has sexual overtones that would have made it the most popular team merchandise with all the kids and gang members. The stuff would have sold off the shelf!Dumb ass politically correct millionaire that bought the team. You can tell that guy is so stupid that he must have inherited all his money.
Saw one on HRTV horse racing the other day where a horse was named Treasure Trail. That one must have slipped through the National Thoroughbred racing association blue blood in the dark sensors.I could tell the broadcast guys and race caller were a little uneasy with that one.
