    Dwight Howard or LeBron James.
If you're starting a team, who would you pick? I think I would lean towards Howard. Guy is a flat out beast. Much to hard to find that much talent in a big man these days. Just look at the centers in the All-Star game over the last 20 years. Hell, they had Mutumbo in there at the age of 36 in 2002. Lakers and Spurs can attest to importance of a dominant big man. They have won 7 out of the last 10 championships. And Celtics without Garnett would never had stood a chance last year. Howard is averaging 22 and 14 and last night put up 32 and 21. Kid's only 23. Will be interesting to see who has the most rings when done. Howard or LeBron.

Thats insane IMO. Not so ridiculous that it doesn't deserve an argument, but LeBron is in a class by himself. Howard needs other players around him(ie shooters) much more than LeBron does.

The answer is LeBron. LeBron can handle the ball, shoot the jumper, slash to the hoop. While Howard is a helluva player, he essentially a one trick pony. He's a beast on the low block and he can dunk the hell out of the ball but he's dependent on someone getting the ball to him.

            lol. Laugh now. Cry later.

Howard in the last 3 games is averaging 26 and 16. Once again age 23. When this guy hits his prime, he will be 28+/16+ player. Just watch, kids. Shaq's 4th year in the league he averaged 26/11. Howard is already a much better rebounder than Shaq. You remember when Shaq hit his prime with the Lakers? Just watch this Howard kid.

Lebron isn't too good at the line either. But he is better than Howard from the stripe.

Dwight doesn't show up sometimes, like last year against the Pistons in the playoffs for a couple games (was on lockdown).

              Definitely Lebron.

the way i look at it is like this...one on one, nobody in the league can stop lebron (or kobe for that matter) i dont think that anyone can totally shut down dwight but there are a handful of guys that can slow him down quite a bit and the way he shoots ft's, you would have thought he played for memphis in college. therefore i take the guy who is unstoppable to start my team.

the better question would have been "not knowing what we know today, 8 years ago, who do you take, kobe or shaq? cus nobody could stop either of them back then.

Howard has little to no offensive game and is just now learning how to properly play defense. He also disappears in crunch time and in the playoffs. He hasn't proven anything, yet.

He's a physical monster and an elite rebounder. He will develop the necessary skills to compete for MVP -- but only in time. Right now he's not in the same class as Lebron. That said, if you give me Lebron AND DHoward on the same team in 2010...you better watch out...

If you had LeBron and Howard on the same team....might as well had over the trophy for the next 10 years. It will come down to these 2 guys as the most dominant in the game for the future. LeBron is there, Howard is coming.

I think LeBron and Bosh would be the ultimate combo. Championship every year, same as a LeBron/Howard tandem.
