    Zito to the Mets??
I think this could be one of the biggest moves made befor the trading deadline as it makes the Mets a strong World Series contender.
Pedro, Glavine, Zito + that lineup...
I think if the Mets decide to trade Milledge the deal will be made.

Heres the full rumor from ESPN

    • Here are the reasons why it might make some sense for the Mets to package a deal around Aaron Heilman or Lastings Milledge for Barry Zito.

    1. The addition of Zito helps the Mets' chances for winning the World Series.

    2. If they trade Heilman, they can go out and add a middle reliever to take his spot, such as Roberto Hernandez. Trading Milledge won't affect their chances of winning this year.

    3. They could conceivably re-sign Zito to a long-term deal after Zito becomes a free agent, although with Scott Boras representing Zito, the chances of that happening are diminished.

    4. If Zito leaves and signs elsewhere, then the Mets would get two first-round picks as compensation for Zito, effectively helping to fill in the young talent gap created if Milledge or Heilman is dealt.

    What do you guys think????

I think it would be great, but I don't see Oakland doing it.

Oakland kind of needs him too since they are very much alive for playoffs. Seems unlikely to me.

The race in the west is really tight, so I also think he will stay.

You guys dont think Milledge and Heilman could help Oakland right away?? That might be the catch. The A's seem to be looking for a bat.

the A's should be buyers not sellers in this AL west race there in right now.

Another bogus story by ESPN. These asswipes make up stories. Earlier in the year ESPN says Fla may trade Willis. Willis who is not up for free agency and making well below his worth is the perfect player for a Marlin team not interested in spending. But ESPN kept reporting Fla may move him.

Oak is not going to trade Zito. No way.
