no one said nd would lose that big if kelly took the eagles job....but the reality is...in 3 years when it fails and you dont win in the nfl....you lost a good job....kelly is doing good work at nd with recruiting.....he can have a comfy job where he can get a pick of his players...the nfl is a different game.....so in a few years hes likely to be looking for something new

More from Prister, Kelly's "interview" was conducted over the phone, and interestingly, Kelly's agent is the same agent for 3 of the coaches who have already interviewed with Philly.

From the start, this was Kelly trying to get a long term deal with ND. He got it. Prister is saying ND and Kelly agree to 7 years, 25 million.

even if it was a ploy to get a better contract, it could really hurt recruits. They are flaky in stable situations. Plus Brian kelly told the kids at cinci he wasnt leaving either.

Eagles are starting to piss me off with how they are conducting this search. They seem to be trying to make the job look like it should be attractive to everyone by getting stories out there that they are interviewing this coach and that coach. Interview the guys who make sense, not some f-ing name dropping shit from the college ranks. Brian Kelly would be about a thousand times worse than Chip Kelly and I thought Chip Kelly would have been a bad hire.

You're fine. Not a single recruit is wavering. Besides, look what flirting with the NFL did for Chip Kelly, he got 4 verbals since his turned down the Eagles.

This! He might be a good coach, but not a great one. ND was a few plays away from having a multi loss season. Their defense carried them.

I think he is smart to capitalize on anything that he can. He pretty much fell into the ND job, after a few good seasons at UC.

I was wondering how he goes into a recruit's home and looks the parents in the eye and pitches to them what is in store for their son. Not that ND didn't have a good season for a Indepenaant school but seriously I think that game hurts the stellar recruiting class he hopes to have in the future.

No one expected them to be 12-0 this year either.
Golson will only get better as a qb, and they have a bunch of parts in place.

He has helped make ND relevant again, hes the best coach they have had there recently that is for damn sure.. And there is not a poster on this site that wouldnt do what any of these coaches do to help get more leverage to make more money especially with coaching
were a few 7-5 seasons and top tier teams want you fired
