We need the playoff now. When the "number 1" team in the country doesn't belong in the championship game, it is time for a playoff. Notre Dame should have been somewhere around 10. A playoff would have weeded them out, probably in the first round. At least the championship game would have a better shot at being a good game. Even if it had to be between two SEC teams every year.

Don't see why it is so hard to bump new plan up a year... It has just as much to do with giving someone like Saban that long to prepare as anything. Only way those SEC fools lose is if they have to process two tough games plans back to back...

Notre Dame went undefeated and beat the likes of Stanford, Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan State, BYU and Miami... They deserved their ranking and their spot. If they weren't that good, then ideally they lose in first round of a proper format.

It should be an 8 team play-off. First round before Christmas, then New Year's Day for the Semi's and then the championship two Mondays later.

Who knows where ND should have been? Their schedule was not easy and they went undefeated. Florida lost to a sorry Louisville team and K-State looked very over-matched against a who-knows-if they-care Oregon team. Take a month and a half off and this is what we get.

Notre Dame was terrible and should have never been in this game. They barely got by power house Purdue 20-17 and really didn't beat Pittsburg and really didn't beat Stanford. Played a weak schedule.

They barely got by some teams, too many teams. They absolutely did not play a weak schedule. That is an ignorant comment.

Read the cotton bowl might host the 1st championship round which would be nice touch on tradition.

Pretty sure if they scored that a TD, even though the whistle caused everyone to stop when they had him in the backfield, that pending a PAT, game simply would have gone to another Overtime. Florida would have been the team to replace them if they lost in that Overtime. Florida did real well. A&M had two losses. Get real. Notre Dame got lucky a bit sure, but that is sports. If they played straight through instead of having 6 weeks off, luck might have continued like say the luckiest team of all time - The SF Giants. Wonder if their luck would have ran out with a really long layoff. I think so.

Just saying rarely in sports does the best team necessarily win. Best case can be made for NBA. Anyone who knows baseball, knows how random a given series can be...That is not the point, however. College football post-season sux, we know that, but it is ironic that more so than any sport do people insist on trying to get the best team on paper a championship. Probably because of voting and probably because some get to disregard an Oregon or Kansas State in favor of the team they think is better(Alabama). I bet Oregon wishes they had a chance to thrash the Irish.

Should not have brought up the Giants so you could focus more on how wrong you were about that Stanford game.

technically these kids dont get paid to play..so its kind of fuked up asking them to risk injury and play more games..yes the system is broken but.....i mean they get suspended for petty shit..getting tattoos, free tickets to somewhere..free food.. etc..ncaa is a joke the way they handle these kids to begin with...and now you want em playing more games..i dunno about that...django unchained more like it..
