Cost them huge, it's not like Lacy only went for 2 more yards after the misses, he went for 15 more. Bama likely kicks a field goal or doesn't score on the first two drives if he plays solid football.
ND got their brains blown out, but if ND had gotten anything right (made a play or gotten a call early) this could have played out very differently.

Your right, clearly one guy can't be blamed for a 28 point loss. I'm just saying from a motivational point, down 21-0 and your star/leader can't make a play..... You're fukked. If he had played better, I think ND would have played significantly better as a team, and never fell into quite as large of a hole as they did. Imagine if he makes a couple tackles and ND goes into the break down 13-0 or 16-0.... The end result may have been very different.
