If you were utterly ruthless, what avenue would you take to success?
Pride goes before the fall.Man,a guy could sure raise havoc doing anything it takes to get ahead these days.I grew up with a guy that started a strip joint fronting for a whore house, bookie joint and kickback agency for looking the other way as to what patrons were selling in his joint. It was in a close knit town where him,me and everyone else either knew everyone or were related to most people. He hit his business venture at the perfect time because alot of single guy outsiders were working on big construction projects and they had plenty of $$$$$ in their pocket and hard ons.He bought the place for next to nothing and didn't put money into it.There were very few ordinances and laws at the time.In today's world, his venture would never have gotten off the ground.

Even the priests, reverends, retired cops and 65 year old businessmen neighbors were in fist fights with him when he was 23.He did crap like chainsawing all the cedar trees in retired cops yards when they raised a fuss with him.He was like the bar owner in the HBO series Deadwood. He would be in a foursome getting drunk on the golf course taking his good old time and if some 80 year old geezer complained they were slow,he would bitch him out and challenge him to a fight.

The guy supposedly got burnt in a huge middling squeeze.A week later he gassed himself in his Jim Rockford Trans Am in his ** Mansion.Rumors were floating around that he was a dismembered torso courtesy of higher powers on the gambling ladder. He left a couple mill early 80's money to his crazy old lady and crazy brother and they squandered everything. I can remember 5 names from a pro football team with horns on their helmets that bet through him on NFL games, maybe their own?????

Anyone else have any stories about someone like this that crossed paths in their life?Anyone here do crap like this at one time or another? When you see all the Wall Street bailouts and such,it almost makes a guy feel the screwed up world is one rigged board game where you should go for broke and do anything it takes to get ahead. There is no longer any incentive to play by the rules.Only suckers do!

Supposedly he turned this way because as a kid his brother fell out of the upstairs window on their house and his mom blamed it on him constantly when he had nothing to do with it.

totally agree with you. most rules put in place by governments are there to protect someone or something.

i am in telecommunications. and the rules that are put in place by respective governments are there to protect whoever is paying them off. i dont follow the rules, fuk them, i bypass them all and save our customers a fortune by doing this.

you are so spot on, following the rules are for idiots. almost impossible for any startup to prosper if your follow THEIR rules.

After High School I played 2 years of JC ball, now me not thinking to much outside the box didnt ever see the need to take any illegal substances to get stronger faster ect. Not only was the best player on the team selling these he was making close to 6 figures a year supporting his parents himself and supplying over 4 JC and multiple high schools in the area!

About a year ago I asked some friends from the team what happen to this individual? (Now remember this kid had been drafted out of high school(turned down 80k signing bonus) and had many scholar ship offer as well.) Not only did he not pass the classes he need to accept the scholar ship he accepted going into his last year there but never played a single game since than as well! Last that was heard was he got busted selling roids and went into protective custody!

This guy had it all as far as Baseball and School went. But was so damm greedy and needed money now and couldnt wait for the bigger picture to unroll and to have a chance to play baseball and be paid doing it as well! I am not saying it would be easy to turn down a chance to make a 6 figure income while being 19-20 years old, but with everything else this guy had going it just makes u wonder why take the risk!
