What a fantabulously amazing Friday morning! It is the start of the annual New Years Day preparations for us! A few days before New Years Eve, we begin cleaning through the entire house, getting rid of the old, broken, worn, and stuff we do not use. We donate what is good and get rid of the rest.
Today, we begin another year of that journey! Always interesting to see the things that have accumulated in your home over the past year... especially with four kids and a spouse.
Normally we start in the living room, everything gets wiped down, cleaned, sorted through, moved out and even cleaned behind. Ceilings and wall get wiped down as well. Any minor repairs that have been put off are completed as we go, and major ones are scheduled to be fixed at a later date.
It's a great feeling to ring in the New Year knowing your house isn't overflowing with useless junk, stuff that doesn't fit or is worn out, or a huge mess doesn't abound. Instead you wake up to a nice clean, almost sparkling home, ready to be filled with love and happiness for another year!
Also in there, we always have a New Years Eve party with the kids. So, time to start getting the food list, movie list, game list, etc. Also need to set up times to start cooking everything as well double check and make sure our calendars are organized for the new year!
