For years that tribe has given the Canadian government fits and there were even armed standoffs over the Indians there wanting more sovereignty.They run a stealthy internet gambling empire with dozens upon dozens of sportsbooks,online casinos and bingo websites under their umbrella.They run www.sportsinteraction.com they have an organized gambling alliance called the Kahnawake gambling commission. The U.S.government won't touch them with a 10 foot pole because they would be treading on political incorrect ground so if most offshore sportsbooks stop U.S.A.residents from betting this Canadian Indian outfit will let you do it.Alot of tribes up that way were huge into the online cigarette biz and someone near and dear to me for years before they passed away from lung cancer bought sub generic 100's delivered to their door by U.P.S.for $9 a carton.
God only knows what kind of reservation mafia they have going where the big chief and his cronies line their pockets.I live in an area of Minnesota where we have alot of Indian casinos and you have never seen such a nation divided as the Indians where they set up factions where either you are on the outside looking in and want the goodies or you are on the inside with the goodies and want to keep them.
My take on the Iddians is this.There should be no poor Indian in this country with all the gambling revenue and special rights they have to be able to get into business,go to school for free,get this and that for free etc. etc.There really aren't that many Indians and a whole lot of $$$$$$$$$$$ to be divided.We have a tribe that owns a casino near the twin cities and every member gets something like 600K a year in dividends and they are still getting killed drinking and driving and in constant domestic disputes at home resulting in murders etc.Most die by the time they are 50 something of an unnatural death.The government treats them like children telling them what they can do,when to do it,how often they can do it etc.because they are the parents holding the purse strings.As Reagan's secretary of the interior was lambasted for saying,it's the worst case of failed socialism he has ever seen.Sorry to say,he was 100% accurate.
In my opinion the Indians should be allowed to do anything they want on their sovereign nation ''the reservations'' but they should be cut off from all special government tax payer affirmative action type programs.If they want to run sportsbooks,cigarette companies,whore houses,fireworks reatail stores,let them do it.If they can't be self sufficient with all of that going for them then you know they are beyond help.Hell,they could be like the Cayman Islands and run high interest credit card banking operations.
I'm being politically incorrect here and giving Jewish people alot of credit but the Jews can turn nothing into something and the Indians are the opposite and turn something into nothing.I wish them the best of luck and wish them well and root for them in a way but they are their own worst enemies.They should be in position to be telling the government to bug off and leave them alone instead of telling the government we need you like a protective parent.
If anyone has ever taken a road trip through the western plains states and seen the history of what happened to the Buffalo you would have a soft spot in your heart for the Indians.I don't blame the Indians back then for being pissed at the white guy when they used to shoot a ton of prime meat for fun or just the tongue to eat.Now the shoe is on the other foot where casinos can be their revenge.hehe!
