kinda f'd up, avery is a great coach. had a great start but just wasn't working out, williams had to do something with it. they would rather fire a coach and get a new one then make their star unhappy and him forcing a trade. funny though now d will says he really likes sloan and says he is a much better coach then avery and respects him a lot. said that about a week or two ago.

This is basically correct with some caveats. Black NBA coaches are held to a much higher standard than white NBA coaches (e.g. Doug Collins, Scott Skiles, Lawrence Frank, etc...). Even though blacks make up the majority of the players, the NBA front offices and NBA fans are dominated by white people. Blacks are convenient scapegoats when a team struggles.
