A Book should NEVER be allowed to void after an event
Reading a fair amount on this forum recently about Books voiding bets after the event has taken place claiming 'Wrong Line'

This is totally out of order & should not be tolerated. What should happen (IMO) is if a book has posted an obvious bad line then instead of voiding post event, they should payout at say Pinnys quoted odds for the event.

Any book refusing & post voiding should then be downgraded to F by SBR, as this practise is nothing more then theft on the part of the book

What if Pinny didn't have a line ? Some bets like props can be unique. Opening, or closing line ?

I agree bets shouldn't be cancelled, but the resolution isn't that simple.

I think that all books should agree to some governing body to settle disputes such as SBR and the rulings to be final. I forget the name of dispute body in the UK bet doesn't it agree with the book 95% of the time?

Bootsy great point. I am sure the book in question can find a fair line at other books kind of like a consensus line if they want to void bet and use bad line rule.

Dispute body in UK is IBAS. Total waste of space

Exactly JJ I think this would work well in around 90% of cases (IMO).

Agree Raiders SBR would be far better then UK Bookies chums IBAS.

Would be good if Bill could give an "SBR view" of what the protocol should be in cases like this. Of course, you don't want to see a book being liable for an obviously bad line but you don't want them to go down the road of voiding the bet if it's a winner.

SBR should write a policy. I bet if it was fair all books would use it. It would probably have to be like 8 pages.
