    Your thoughts on open parlays?
I've been fooling around with open parlays on 5Dimes and they seem really easy. I'm about 4 spaces away from closing a 25 team open parlay, $15 to win over $100.

I mostly just pick huge favorites, -1000 moneylines and greater

Does anyone else have experience with open parlays and want to share their thoughts?

In my eyes they are a better option than being forced to take 25 teams in a weekend. Open parlays you can find better spots.

If you do them purely for entertainment purposes then play them however you like. If you are serious and am in it to make money then start off with dogs/even lines and gradually pick larger favs.

I don't understand why you would take moslty dogs. I'm taking large favorites because they have a small chance to lose straight up, thereby mitigating my risk.

I don't really see any other way to use 25 team open parlays, really.

You may have misunderstood my suggestion. It's not too take 'mostly' dogs. It's starting a parlay with some better lines. For example, if you bet a +100 pick to start this parlay then the final winnings ($100 +) will be $200 +.

You'll lose more at the start of a parlay but after a couple games you can then start to pick larger favorites like in this current parlay.

I see, yeah thats a good suggestion. I threw a better line in there towards the end with that Bulls game so I guess I did it kinda backwards from what you suggested

to me is all about bettering ur percentage on winning a bet , whether or not it take s a weekend or even 10-14 days a winning bet is a winning bet, ifeel the open parlays enable ur percentage to jump drastically so i do feel u will profit at the end, just think 15 is too little i would like to jump up to maybe 45 to win in the neighborhood of 300 do that 2 times about u just clipped 600 a month without breaking a sweat. which is why money management is far more important in gambling setting a plan and sticking with it

                I agree,

If you have good money management and patience these open parlays/teasers can be profitable.

I have a lot of experience with open parlays and play them quite often. I'll usually open a 3-4 teamer and pick games over a 2-3 day period. It's basically like taking your "play of the day" and keeping adding them in. If you don't like the day's card....then just pass until you see something you like.

It also gives you a chance to "hedge" when you're getting towards to end of a larger open parlays.

I like them...they are fun...I would think I am probably up on them though I have not kept track....I take my time with them though....right now i have a 3 team parlay i started on dec.3 (i really havent been capping or betting much lately)

and i have a 19 team open parlay that was started on october 3 ! I have 17 teams filled and won on that...mostly big juice plays - that ha soccer, tennis, nfl, college football, and even a rugby pick in it,.

sometimes i'll play 6 teamers, 12 teamers, etc....really depends on how i feel.

Open parlays are useful in MLB that way you can wait and pick a bunch of teams when they have their ace on the mound

I use them for almost every MMA event for props.

My record is definatly +EV with them.

I don't get the point of Open Parlays.

they don't offer any better odds for the individual games and all they really do is force you bet with your winnings if you win. ma

The only advantage i can really see is if you want to place a wager on a game before a previous bet will be graded and you have most/all of your available fund tied up in said wager.

                                            Fun for action bets.
Same thing with Open Teasers...I don't have a problem teasing 4-5 games a weekend and then just waiting for the next to add a couple more teams, then the same the next week.
