We don't know if McElroy is the real deal after a short stint, but to deflect attention off of the Jets at home is a brilliant move by Rex Ryan. This will take a lot of the anger out of the fans. If McElroy comes up big, things would be forgotten quickly and attitudes will change.

The sad part is the Jets would be a playoff team or atleast right in the thick of the wildcard race if McElroy or even Tebow started from day 1
