#142Wow has this book gone downhill recently seriously. Wow! Where is the government at in that country where they are located at on this issue. Hey John what steps are you going to take now to help members here that has funds there?
I am just glad I never signed on with them because I would be hurting right now.
I hope you don't have any contests that these guys sponsored that are currently going right now or you may have some problems with that.Comment -

#143It's a tough situation for SBR... it's a surprise to everyone. It just goes to show you that maybe our funds aren't safe anywhere? It's up to our own instinct and our own research when we fund these books. SBR John does a lot of wonderful things here for us. I'm sure he feels bad just like most of SBR employees. He'll do the best he can.Comment -

#152You might be right. They did go to bat on sportsbook.com and some others in the past. I wouldn't say that totally. I just think it is terrible that this happened right in the middle of the football season with bowl season coming up. That is the shocker to me.Comment -

Some guy made a thread about his local not answering calls/responding to texts last week. He also said he never met this guy in person before.
Of course OP might have been making this up but you gotta be smart in who you choose as a local.Comment -

#157Actually the real truth is they were never rated higher than B. Its easy to blame the rating but if you were truly rating sensitive you would have never joined there. SBR will accept responsibility for its part but check the mirror before you get all holier than thou. They were never an A book.Comment -

#160John getting a raw deal here. I don't blame him 1 bit for this. BI was catering to the sbr crowd. So everybody from here was getting accomodated first. They were slow paying and stiffing guys from covers and dudes not on any forums first. Soon as it was confirmed that we were getting stiffed, they pulled the banner.Comment -

Never understood the offshore attraction and it's accompaning red tape.
Offshore books are good for offshore owners, employees , money transfer companies,
sports forums like SBR, their owners and employees. To each their own.Comment -

#165I'm going to play devil's advocate here. If BetIslands plan is to steal our money how come you can still go to their website and make bets? How come you can still go into Live chat and chat with them? How do we know for sure that it's just not because they don't have a Processor at the moment? How do we know for sure that our money there is as good as gone?Comment -

#166A book we rated B fails of course SBR is going to take heat. For now we are going to focus on seeing if any book has an interest in a bailout.
To prevent another BI I think its time to raise the minimum standard. Someone asked yesterday about GTBets and told them there are much better books. Several posters jumped me saying they are rated B. It certainly seems we have done a poor job explaining the difference is risk between a B book and a A book and an equally poor job suggesting a B book is safe or relatively safe. But for now lets work on a bailout.Comment -

I know you guys will work to get this resolved. I would let members here know though that SBR is going to try to do something here to help. I would for sure put a video of an explanation of what's going on here.Comment -

#169I agree with you and see if there can be a buyout of this book is possible first. I am still surprised that you haven't gone to the government where they are at and inform of what has happened here. It doesn't hurt to ask on what can be done on that route also. I know the staff there can have all that information on what to do in this case hopefully soon.

We uncovered one interested party so have to keep digging. Bailouts are difficult these days because most of the players already have accounts at the potential acquiring book.Comment -

#170We tried that with Cascade. I can tell you its a 100% a waste of time. Even if we could fund the years of litigation there would be nothing to collect. It's a shell game down here with shell companies and none of the money is here.

Most of us have accounts everywhere and are only using one or two of them. Many of us have naively not bet anywhere but a bubblegum shop for a long time because of the bonuses. Lesson now learned, which legit site do all of us go back to is the question here?
Getting a player back in the door that hasn't used a site in a year is the same as getting a new player.Comment -

As far as a buyout it wouldn't be that hard if the player had an account at the one buying it out. Just transfer the balance over to the existing account at the one that's buying it. Finding a buyer might be a pain and that is true.Comment -
