I'm against a bailout for the auto industry. I would like to see them file Chapter 11 so they can rid themselves of the UAW. Our auto industry can't compete against foreign automakers if they're paying high union wages and benefits while their competitors don't have to.

I'd like to see those figures, all of them, and see what the CEO's are making and all of the overhead. What neo-cons like you are failing to see is that the cost is only part of the issue, perhaps the minor part. Product line desireability is more the issue.

SO if they ultimately pay 44/hr, the the workers get about 12/hr....nice. You gonna retain employees for that?

Since the world has just over 6 billion people, perhaps 6.3 or so, and at least 1/3 of those live in China and India, that's an easy start at that 90% standard that you've guessed at.
