Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's a bad day to dine at the Golden Nugget hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas, whether you work there or you're just visiting.
Health inspectors have been very busy there in the last two days, tracking down pests and closing down restaurants.
Creepy crawlies of the six-legged variety have taken up residence at the Golden Nugget.
They didn't rent a room at the downtown hotel.
They're living and reproducing where employees and customers are eating.
The sign posted outside the Golden Nugget's Cellar Cafe Employee Dining Room shows health inspectors shut it down for an imminent health hazard.
On Tuesday, inspectors found what they call a "multi-generational" infestation. Whole families of roaches had set up shop "throughout food prep and food storage areas including floor drains and in the electrical access panel."
Inspectors also found heavy rust buildup and mold inside the ice machine, which was so bad it was red-tagged and immediately taken out of service.
Inspectors were last in the Cellar Cafe just one month ago.
On Nov. 13, they found some expired potato salad and noted another pest problem -- that time it was fruit flies throughout the facility, at the salad station, by the dish machine and the drains.
Today, health inspectors shut down both the Carson Street Cafe and Lillie's Asian Cuisine. The two restaurants share a kitchen and operate above the employee dining area.
All are infested with cockroaches.
No one from the Golden Nugget would go on camera, but they did send a written statement saying: "We are clearly upset and disappointed that somebody dropped the ball. This should never happen. We retain the services of a professional outside vendor, and are angry and disappointed this happened. A full investigation is being launched as to how this occurred, and we assure all of our guests that it will not happen again."
The Golden Nugget says remedying the roach problem is their highest priority right now.
And although they want to re-open everything as soon as possible, they haven't scheduled re-inspections yet because they want to be sure the roaches are gone for good.
I guess the slobbering fat drunk you are must be the dominant one....what do they call the fat gays who protect the skinny guys like sweep.....the "Bears" or some shit?
