    Vegas betting
Hi, I am planning to go to Vegas for the first time to place some bets on ncaa basketball. Apologies for the newbie questions. I am planning to wager about $15,000 on some parlays so not a small amount. I do have a few questions that I am hopeful someone can help me out with:

    1) Any way for me to compare money lines across casinos without having to go to each one? Is there a website I could use such as SBR does in their odds section for offshore books?

    2) Do I need to use cash or will they accept debit or cc? If I have to use cash, do these casinos have a bank on site so that I can take out this large sum?

    3) Do you think I could get comps for this amount of wagering in one night? If so, any specific casinos?

    4) Are there any casinos who will basically let you bet on any sporting lines?

If you can only address one or some of the questions, I still would really appreciate the response.
    Thanks!

          1. Honestly, think about it. Why would any casino update any real time odds sites? They don't want you line shopping. If you need to line shop, you will have to do the footwork.
          2. Yup, cash or chips only. They don't want people gambling on credit. (not making fun at all. I stupidly actually tried to buy in to a WSOP event once using my ** hoping to take advantage of the cash back... after all the laughter ended, I realized how dumb of an idea that was.)
          3. If you want comps, play slots or table games.
          4. You have to do the legwork on this as well.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen. So I am thinking the following base don the replies:

            1) I actually do not need to compare lines, I just want to make sure a sportsbook offers the type of bets I am looking for - which are moneylines on certain ncaa games. Most sportsbook don't offer all the games for some reason. Before I go to a sportsbook, I'd like to make sure they offer the games I want to bet on. LVH seems like a safe bet, any others?

            2) Could I open an account with the casino and wire money to them for me to spend when I get there? has anyone done that? My other option would be to go to BkofAma when I get there.

            3) Sounds like comps are not an option but maybe I could get one if I tell them I am sending money to start an account at their casino.

            4) I do not even know how to do the legwork, I guess I could call all these books and find out or just go to LVH

            Thanks!

              1) Show me the odds is a free odds comparison program that has a few Vegas book listed... If you are talking about college football you shouldn't have much trouble finding ML but in basketball you probably going to be limited to key games each day

              2) You can set up what is called a front money account with a casino and send a wire but seems like a huge hassle to get set up, deal with depositing/withdrawing from the cage over and over again versus just having your money in cash/chips in your pocket (don't flash your money around and you will be fine)

              3) Unlikely you going to get much (if anything) until you demonstrate you going to give them play (just finding out what is expected to derive comps can be a bitch at alot of casinos) and sportsbetting won't lead to much more than a drink coupon

              4) My experience is that most books won't give you any info over the phone about lines... Use a line service or plan on getting exercise...

Well it has changed a lot. I was surprised.

If you really want comps downtown is still the best place to go, and despite my shock it still offers a number of lines to bet into. But since its college hoops the variety is going to be limited anyway, it was much more important for baseball. But William Hill runs most of the books all around town, they have goofy props up, but you have to ask for some of them I am sure. Plus each books has 'specials' they all had varying Thursday night football and TNT basket ball gimmicks last night. I left before I got all the details but they didnt look horrible. But there are about 10 lines in all of Vegas these days. and a couple of them are only at a single property and those ones will really be Micky Mouse. Most obviousone is Golden Nugget, but you can also get William Hill at several other places, Boyds is right there too, and El Cortez has Stations (I think) if you dont mind some adventures getting there. Strip has a small loop you can do as well, but it will take longer. You can find Will Hill, MGM, Cantor, TI (own number), Wynn, and Ceasers numbers in that walk but it will take awhile, a lot longer than walking around down town. But better scenery.

As long as you have a phne with a network youre going to be up to date though. Maybe not exactly what Vegas books have but like I said since its NCAA hops theyre all pretty much clones, most will have the same exact point spreads, and ML wont vary by more than a nickle after any move for more than 5 minutes.

With 15K youre probably going to qualify for some stuff, but sports book props are just non existent these days. Go find ut what black jack props are or poker props. Then play for the allotted time or dollar amount needed with basic strategy and youre going to be further ahead than trying to get comped betting sports.

You can use any device in the book, only rule now is you cant be talking on your phone at the window, but I am sure with an ear bud or whatever that didnt make it extremely obvious that would be OK too, so keeping up to the second moves straight has never been easier.
