For the record:

Rob Parker is from NYC and was a news and radio reporter in Detroit for a few years. He was routinely suspended and eventually forced to resign over fallacious and unprofessional comments he made while in Detroit.

Jemele Hill was born in Detroit and attended Michigan State. She also has been disciplined several times (at ESPN) because of inappropriate comments that were not overtly racist. She has been known to make comments that are racially offensive.

Mike Tirico was born in Ann Arbor, MI and resides there now with his wife and family (he has season tickets for Detroit Tigers games and I've seen him there many times). He is not known for making racially incendiary remarks, but there is a rumor (supported by an unauthorized ESPN biography) that he was suspended for a short time for sexual harassment.

Dude is a cornball himself. I just got in an argument at work yesterday about Kobe. Kobe is not that likable but he his hated in the hood. I find the part I put in bold to be racist. Why does the African American community need an athlete to do something FOR them? And why is an athlete the only one that can do whatever needs to be done?

I think it's racist for you to assume you know, and can speak for, the entire African American community and I find it to be racist to think they need RG3 in order to survive the racist society that you think we live in. Parker is right. RG3 isn't black enough because he didn't kill his best friend/teammate from drunk driving or he didn't shoot his girlfriend/mother of his 3 month old baby then shoot himself all within 1 week apart. Being black enough is a much bigger issue then killing innocent bystanders.
