No one in their right mind would pay anyone that much money. Sounds like a large load of horse shit.

It was reported on Philly sports talk radio.
The Phillies are after Hamilton and have more money than any team left in the running to do it.

LOL He might already be off the wagon for all we know!
But yeah, this city has so many bars and clubs it would be very easy for him to fall off the wagon if he is weak.

Reports come out a day after Michael Young goes to Philly. I'm sure the usual suspects of Rumorville started this the moment Young was on his way out as if A has anything to do with B.

In all fairness though, Young did say before he made his decision, he spoke with Cliff Lee and asked him all kinds of questions about the team and city.

Oh I don't doubt any of that, I just find it amusing that the Hamilton-Phillies talk only comes out after that move. Of course in this day and age, half of the rumors you see I assume are started by the player's agent to drive up price & perceived level of interest.

funny how people forget the main thing in Joshs life, his wife, she will be the one making the decision
and as far as 3 yrs 80 million, do you think that can not be matched by the rangers , hell the taxes alone will change dramatically

he's a decent prospect but a career .316 OBP is not gonna get it done in the lead off spot

If you think Revere would be a bad leadoff hitter, you should watch Jimmy Rollins try to do it sometime.
The worst I've ever seen. He is a popup, flyout, strikeout, or groundout every time up. He has no understanding that his job as a leadoff hitter is to get on base, steal, and score runs.
He thinks he's Babe fukkin Ruth and tries to hit a home run every time up.
That's why I put Revere as leadoff, because at this point, anyone is better than Rollins there.

well, if your going to have Rollins, Utley, Hamilton, Howard hitting 2 3 4 5...you can't have some one who has a career .316 OBP hitting lead off that is for sure.

True, but the kid is young and he batted .294 last year. You also can't have a .250 hitter batting leadoff and that is what Rollins hit last year. He killed them so many times it was literally disgusting to watch.
Rollins hasn't batted in the .290s since 2007.

They're welcome to him. His and Albert's massive egos are going to be hard to coexist.
