Nick Saban...look at Pat Summitt....retire and enjoy life
Whether or not you believe that women's records should count as NCAA records in comparison to the men's game, Pat Summitt is a legend. Her legacy was cemented in the midst of an astounding career. She kept pushing on and on and on. At the end, dementia hit and she can not enjoy the fruits of her labor that she worked so hard for.

Mr. Saban you are 61 years old. You are the mountain in the best conference in college football. 60-7 in the last few years...defending national champion and probably this years national champion. There is nothing left to prove. Your wife is putting it out in the public media that expectations are so high that enjoyment is no longer possible. You have your health, money, family, and a legacy.

Cheers Nick Saban...retire and enjoy the fruits of your labor...

Yea, retire and become irrelevant. That's going to happen.

Saban eats, sleeps and breathes this shit. Plus, he's an ego-maniac.

He'd rather wind up like this on the sidelines than retire:

When Saban dies, they will wheel his casket onto the sidelines, and put a pair of headphones on them.

If he is wired that way so be it...I would rather enjoy the money, retire, and be with family and friends. IMO he could look at Summitt and learn some things on how you cant take it with you.

Off the top of your head....name some of the old ARMY or Notre Dame football coaches when they had empires in the early 1900's...I cant...so much for relevance...everyone fades

That's why he is Nick Saban and you aren't.

No one said he has a good head on his shoulders or is the guy you want to talk to about perspective. His tunnel vision is what got him here in the first place. He's not going to give all of that up to become a more well-rounded human being.

only reason why pat is retiring is because of her illness.

saban will be back in the nfl soon, especially if he wins the title game which everyone expects him too. you can't do much more at bama, and you are under so much pressure with every game as a must win.

His wife says, Alabama is there last stop before retirement. I don't think he goes back to the NFL or anywhere else really. He has all he wants at Alabama, kinda like coach K at Duke.

Sorta odd... If Nick was 51 then maybe another shot in the NFL. Being 61 means Ala is his last stop - But who knows

The guy hates to lose... as long as Bama wins and wins BIG each yr he will continue to coach. When they start losing 4 gms a yr he will hang it up
