I got word this afternoon by a dependable source within UT that says a deal is in the works now naming Bill Cowher the UT Vols coach. Along with that, former UT player and current Alabama D-coordinator Kevin Steele(who has ties to Cowher through Dom Capers) would become the D co/Ass.Head Coach at TN. It is also believed that Lane Kiffin will become the O coordinator and Head Coach in Waiting. I know it sounds like a far stretch but AD HAmilton knows he has to make a huge splash here and this comes from a good source that was right when he told me that Fulmer would be forced out and when. $ is no problem there as they have one of the top athletic budgets in the country along with prominent boosters wanting to make this happen. Only time will tell to see if this deal is inked.

#9Haha i love these "inside sources" threads cause its never based on reality but just some schmuck guessing and trying to make a name for himself.
You're telling us that ESPN doesnt have these sources but some random dude on a forum does?
There is no way he'll goto TN when there are/will be so many open NFL coaching positions and wealthy owners willing to make him the highest paid coach. Rams, Raiders, Lions, Browns and Chargers would immediately dump their lame ducks to hire him.Comment -

#16Actually as an SEC fan and some close friends in the TN community I'm hearing that I new head coach will be named by mid-December. That will of course rule out any NFL coaches who where slated to take the job. I'm hearing Kiffin and possibly bringing Ed Orgeron as the Defensive Coordinator and to help with recruiting.Comment -
