Are The Dodgers Now The Favorites To Win The World Series?
especially given their new payroll, which is astronomical.

        Why the laughter?

Seriously, the attitude on this forum last baseball season was "Well, the Yankees have the highest payroll so they SHOULD be the favorites or one of the favorites".

Well guess what? Now the Yankees don't have the highest payroll anymore, the Dodgers do. So, going by the same logic, are the Dodgers now considered the favorite or one of the favorites for the World Series?

Seriously though, why always the double standard when it comes to the Yankees?

Highest payroll not guaranteed success. Lakers a great example of that

if they are, they shouldnt be.

not when you have the worst manager in baseball. how do you not make the playoffs last season with the best lineup in the nl????? instead they finished 8 games behind the giants.

They have to be the favorites with that scary offensive lineup and the pitching to match with the additions of Grienke and Ryu to go With the the net cy young Kershaw, Billingsly, and Beckett

                            was this his fault?

1-1 game going to the 8th.... kershaw pitching a gem and donny pulls him because the other team brings in a right handed pinch hitter. the bp promptly surrenders 2 runs and they lose.

his reasoning? he thought it would be a quick out if he went righty vs righty.

just one example of this clown's numerous questional moves which cost them games.

when a team struggles, what do good managers do? they hit & run, bunt guys over and even shake up the lineup.... what does donny do? he cancels batting practice and has them playing imaginary baseball where they pretend to throw and hit imaginary baseballs. they lost again that same night.

btw, beckett was one bright spot last season. he allowed just 1 run in 4 of his starts and 3 or less in 6. but only got credit for 2 wins cause the offense scored 1 run or less in 5 of his starts.

                              honestly didnt know that

being in ct i dont catch many games. I do remember taking beckett and him getting shelled a few times. i remember once in col.

Honestly look at my name. I will defend mattingly forever

But i will say i only think he was hired in L.A cuz of Torre

Eitherway its safe to say the Dodgers underperformed last yr.
