I got steamrolled in round 1 of the last one so I would pretty much have to go again.
Unfortunately it would probably be getting outside my capping specialties, NFL and MLB.
But screw it, I'll lift my game in other sports and strike down upon the assembled hordes with great vengeance and furious anger.

sounds good... yeah and I guess we have time to make it happen.
I'm like 1-13 in my picks the last two contests..... so this will be good for me... once the pressure of knowing their are only 127 other contestants and only needing to win like 7 rounds hits me... I guess i choke... so maybe it will be less pressure with 255 other competitors

We'll work on getting some new blood for you guys to chew up in the early rounds. Maybe we can get a $50 or something for the final 32.
CrazyL is working it out for us. The guy is on the ball...had the next one in motion before this one's Elite 8.

I'll be more than happy to play the role of opening round fodder for someone lucky enough to draw me.

How about two 128 tourneys in the first round. One 128 tourney for everyone that is 2 months older member and one for the newbies. Then the winners of both tourneys merge in one 128 tourney and they go at each other.

I guess if you started sign up now or around the final four week you could possibly have 256 by Christmas.

I saw that Smarmy dude. The only explanation I have is that he has his own army of S&M bikes.

Can we start signing up? No harm getting started early as we have to get to 256 this time!

SBR is very generous in free quality services, contests and prize money. Don't know how much all the contests add up to, but the ballpark figure makes me wonder how many of us would be interested in playing for 100K winner takes all, instead of 50 bucks here, 100 there.
A knockout contest can be a big investment of time; to the point where it's not really worth the effort. Personally, I would like to see a little less emphasis on fun, and a little more on business. All these contests add up to some real money. Let's play for that.

A Smarmy is a guy who walks around with chunks of bread stuck between his barney rubble looking toes.
by the way....i'm in for the next contest. I mean, I made it further than Mr. Pickem Bread so, hey....I just might have a chance!! Right? RyyyygggggghhhhttttT???

I'll be game....as my last go around in a tourney ended too early. Hopefully I still have some wins left in me.

They're S&M DYKES not bikes.
And just because someone drives around the schools in a cargo van with "Free Candy" written on the side, doesn't mean they're a bad person. just sayin.

Cool idea to divide em up on the east and west if it would even out.

The sportsbooks like the fact that they get to have a lot of new guys trying out their book. That helps with the pirzes.
Knock out contests are fun for most people. There are betting, pick-em challenges and fantasy sports games going on everywhere for no cash. Especially if you are making these picks anyways at your book, it should be an added return.

I understand. Still, a contest where the winner took home 100K would create its own publicity and attract a huge crowd (adding another couple of rounds to the tournament would be relatively easy). BTP by itself comes close to that total amount in prize money, and has a build-in requirement for trying out books.
Winner takes all is a dynamic format, but doesn't have to be exclusive. If online odds were posted at a book, players that went deep into the tournament could decide themselves if they wanted to hedge their position (depending on limits).
