    Wizards fire head coach
WASHINGTON -- The Washington Wizards fired coach Eddie Jordan on Monday after a 1-10 start to the season.

A team spokesman said player development director Ed Tapscott will replace Jordan on an interim basis.

Tapscott will run the Wizards' practice Monday.
    Anyone else see this coming?

As long as they don't hire Michael Jordan I see nothing wrong with this move.

This is a record year in coaches being fired during the season.

            NFL - Raiders & Rams
            MLB - Mets & Brewers
            NBA - Wash & OK
            NHL - Barry Melrose

haha Nick Saban is going to leave #1 Alabama and turn this Wizards team around. He has a secret talent for coaching basketball and now the world will know!

Yaaay! He had his team underperforming anyway. Gilbert Areans not being there has really cost him his job as the team is built around his skill set. Without him and Brendan Haywood they lack both their best defender and offensive player. I hope that he latches on as a an assistant somewhere, because he obviously can coach when he has a full deck. His teams reached the playoffs the last 4 years, with last year being his best coaching job with Arenas hobbled. I neer thought of him as a great or revolutionary coach, but his players playedhard for him up until this year. I think that they tuned him out with the bad start. They just need to hear a new voice. Because of the type of players that are on their squad, they should give Paul Westphal a look. He's a run and gun type, who guided the Phoenix Mercury to the WNBA Championship in his last head gig. He would restore the fun back to the Wizards style of play with his "wheel" offense. Other notables would be to look at Mark Jackson as well. He is very knowledgeble of the game and if Vinny Del Negro can get a head coaching job with no experience, then Jackson certainly can be afforded an opportunity to show his mettle. Other than that, Reggie Theus is looking for a more prestigious job, and the Maloof brothers now that and in spite of that they have not given him an extension. Anyway, have a good time fishing, Eddie!

He's gotten his team to the playoffs.

They've been hurt by injuries to key players.

                        They've started off 1-10.

Easier to fire one coach than 12 players.

Not that I think it will make much difference for the Wiz this year...
