Turner should be gone, not at the end of the season, but before the sun rises in the morning. The only way you call that timeout is through sheer incompetence. When the timeout was called i thought for sure it had to be Indy. When it came up San Diego, i figured it had to be a meathead on the field. To find out it was the head coach was just baffling.

A team will play as the coach thinks. Cards are playing tough and disciplined now because coach projects a touch and disciplined image that the team buys into. Same with Pats. Same with Giants. Same with Steelers (have you ever seen a black guy talk like the Steeler's coach?!). Norv, on the other hand, projects insecurity and scattered thoughts. Is it any wonder that the Chargers play insecure and scattered, managing to win lose a record number of games by the slimmest of margins? If you want to know what the exact opposite of 'killer instinct' looks like, look no further. Turner is not a head coach. Never was. Never will be. The first year is always the inheritance from the previous coach. This year is Norv's team.

A new coach would need a couple of years to get this thing rolling again. It's too late for the Chargers. The window has closed. Michael Turner is with Atlanta, Brees with the Saints, and most of the old coaching staff is scattered around the NFL. Biggest mistake was to not resign Lorenzo Neal. His blocking made LT's super seasons possible. Where is LT now?! Rivers, Merriman, and an aged LT aren't going to cut it next year. It was close, and looked great while it lasted, but no cigar.
