middles on NCAAF totals

Does anyone do this and if so how can I figure out if it's profitable?

I have U49 on tonights UCONN v SFL game.

They are at 13 right now.

The second half line is 22.5.

Take the over on the 2nd half and I 'll break even if the total is out of 36 to 49. Otherwise anywhere in between I make double the money.

Does this payout or make money in the long run?

Depends on how likely you think it is you'll hit your middle. Otherwise just cash the 1 bet.
