It depends. How does your book treat things? Do they count the amount bet or what ever you would win.

For example Andy Murray -$1,000/ You bet $1,000 to win $100. Some books count only $100 since you only won $100.

Depends what it is relative to your overall bankroll, so that we'd know how much you'd e comfortable playing everyday. Honestly, the best idea is to just play every single favourite they have available for a tiny amount, like $5.

Pick a regional NCAA basketball conference and concentrate on these teams. What I do is keep up with the NBA like Rogue said and I also keep up with the SEC in football and basketball. If try to keep up with more than that it is just too much. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands then expand it to 2 conferences.

wouldn't it be better to take dogs over favs in NBA? I mean dogs win more don't they?

taking dogs are very true... i was using the NBA contest as an experiment and almost all my picks were underdogs, about 90%, I'm up over 7k in that. NBA is tough to cap so sticking to dogs should come out even or ahead.
