Andre put up 19k which is great but that is NOTHING compared to what Manning does
As for Manning's donation, a hospital source said to look in the neighborhood of $50 million. That's what Mel Simon donated to get his name on the Clarion Cancer Center, a project about the same size as Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital.Comment -

#12Im debating the fact that this is a good gesture.....BECAUSE IT IS!
But why when celebrities make donation or do the right thing, does it have to show up in the freakin media???
I give a couple hundred bucks worth of toys to families in need every Christmas, and that translates to more of my income then it does for Andre Johnson.
Im glad he's treating unfortunate children, but the world doesnt have to know about it!Comment -

#15Of course people come in here with negative stuff.. it was done as part of his Andre Johnson foundation..
If you did a little research you would know he's done it for a few years already..

#16Keep the thing quiet.......its not like he broke his bank, a whopping 0.2% of his yearly salary.
Professional athletes should be doing this kind of thing......in my opinion, they don't need to make it headline news.Comment -

Back to the original story though, Andre seems like a stand up guy.
A shame the media ignores most stories of good deed and would rather focus on the bad things that go on in society.Comment -

#22It's sad that we can't just accept this random act of kindness and be thankful for it.
Rather we dissect it is and rank it as inferior to what someone else gives. Or try and minimize it by saying he shouldnt have taken the picture.
How about thinking of how happy the kids will be because of AJ.
Im also 100% positive NOBODY on SBR has given enough to charity to be able to judge AJ for taking some picture after the fact.
Like the kids give a fukk and thats who its all about.

#24Kraken.....my point is, you don't see the majority of society who lives in the low to middle class go running to media outlets everytime they give a random act of kindness!
If I were in Andre's shoes....I GUARANTEE YOU I would deny putting my name on the charity, and deny pictures showing how great of a person he is because he has a few 4 foot long receipts. Just give the money, be humble and keep the dang thing quiet.
What is it about Americans that need instant recognition and gratification......LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME! You get the point.Comment -

#27Reg, I usually find myself agreeing with you and honestly I wrote what I wrote before I even read your post. I only had to read about 10 posts and then yours because you resopnded.
We agree he did a good thing. I say let's leave it at that. When I give to charity, I don't say a thing. However, if AJ wants to flaunt it, I say good for him. He just spent 20k on toys for kids that need them. The good of this outweighs the pic so much I dont even see how the picture is an issue.Comment -

#35I have no problem with him having a pic. It's not often you have a couple of 4 ft long receipts. No harm in documenting it.
It's certainly much classier than the idiots that post pics of their 100k plus bar tabs.Comment
