Have you noticed that RB's have a short life span in NFL lately?
Seems like RB's are only good for 2-3 years while rookies come on the seen exploding making the position a dime a dozen...........
what gives?

RB's have always had a short life span, it does seem more significant now though, dunno why.

Gone are the days of the RB's like Smith,Bettis,Sanders,Dickerson,Faulk,Pay ton etc....
I think Adrian Peterson and Steve Jackson are the last of these dinosaurs..........

This is true.
Which is why you should not over pay for them like the Panthers are doing.
Running backs are a dime a dozen the good WR's are harder to find

RB has always had the shortest life spans
and yes there are always young guys coming out of no where like Bryce Brown (who SI called the next Adrian Peterson back in HS)
but I think if anything I notice some more longevity from RB's these days. add to Peterson and Jackson
Frank Gore
Mcgahee
Bradshaw
Michael Turner

I think the more dominant thought I have on "CHANGES" in the NFL
is how surprised I am over the last few years at how successful rookie QB's have been
has anything like this ever happened in the NFL before?
used to be even the #1 overall picks were on the bench for a year, and those that got to start struggled for awhile

Youth and athleticism can beat age and wisdom (or at least be competitive) if you keep the playlist simple. Coaches are finally starting to figure this out

look at college....thats where it starts....no real dominant running backs anymore...2 rb heisman winners since 99
defensive players are like fukkin freight trains...rb's aren't far superior athletic talent anymore

Injuries, injuries, injuries. Everybody is getting hurt more including the guy that all 11 men on defense are looking at and trying to tear his head off. Running back used to be the best athlete on the field, now its the middle linebacker or safety.
