ON a side note, when did the price of the IPAD increase? It was around 11,000 points last time that I checked and now I see over 12,000?? WTF???????

All I want to do is buy an IPAD with points before Jan 1st. I dont even really want an IPAD, but I want the badge

You don't get the badge for buying the iPad with your points. You have to win an iPad to get the badge.
