I watched the Notre Dame and Michigan games yesterday and these major programs like alot of other major programs never seem to attract good kickers and punters.You would think friggin Irish soccer players right from Ireland would be lining up in droves for tryouts.Look at what Texas Tech resorted too when they had a promotion contest at halftime that got them a guy that was able to kick extra points and chip shots.Certainly there has to be some senior in high school in Texas that can kick a ball 70 yards.I live in the boonies and an exchange student from South Africa that was Dutch was doing kickoffs through the end zone and attempting 60 yard field goals.
It amazes me as to how many punters and kickers dress up for alot of major program home games.The coach at game time has no confidence with any of them and takes them out of a bag like golf clubs as to what the situation is.One guy can kick or punt far but can't hit the broad side of a barn,another will shank at the drop of a hat,another can only pooch punt,another can only do onside kicks,another can only kick extra points.Then you have a coach that just takes care of kickers or punters and they need personal trainers.
