Kentucky hires Mark Stoops

2nd best Stoops to be sure. I thought he was very solid during his time out here in Arizona. I expected him to succeed.

Kentucky is a great first gig.

He actually has a good foundation. Lots of sophomores and freshmen played this season. If he can recruit Ohio and get some players from Florida they could make some bowl games...then he'll be off to greener pastures.

Mike coached Arizona, or do you mean Mark was the D.C. in Zona?

Either way Kentucky foots is the worst job in the country.

I detest Mike.

Mark always seemed like he knew his shit. Solid DC. And I believe DC's make for the best HC's.

Also, UK isn't terrible. It is a school serious about basketball, and very little pressure on the football team perform at a top level. On top of that, he gets D1 exposure in a major conference.

Good 1st gig.

Guy deserves a HC job for sure. I was thinking Auburn as a long shot since they wanted him as DC last year or before.

I would think the job as Head Coach in football at either Kentucky or Kansas would have to be one of the more stress free head coaching gigs in D1.

I mean seriously....no one at those schools really gives a fukk about football. Just killing time till hoops season.

kentucky doesnt recruit western ky, all the good players end up somewhere else
we have no juco system, and too many rich preppy white boys on kentucky
that refuse to get their hair messed up

Wrong hire. Be fire in 3 years. Didn't do much at AZ. Should have hire an up and coming coach out of mid-majors. Need new blood.....new ideas.....new mind. All these recycling should stop. Should have hire that womanizer instead.

it doesn't matter who they hire. nobody with any talent whatsoever wants to play football for kentucky. they always suck and its about time they get kicked out of the SEC

Great screen name. This is a different Stoops brother than the HC at Arizona, though Mark was the DC there. I think it's a great hire for Kentucky, just not sure why Stoops would want to go there.
