lllinois is a MUCH better team than Northwestern, don't let their records fool you. Plus Illini have the incentive of needing this to be bowl eligible.

I actually this this is a cheap like for ILLINOIS that is being kept low because of the records of these teams. Based purely on the talent of these teams, Illinois should be around -6.

Now obviously, Illinois hasn't played to their full potential in every game this year, but I think they'll be fully focused today with a bowl bid on the line.

Yeah, I just think that Minnesota is done. They overachiebed earlier in the year and are coming down to their true level.

I also think that Iowa would have the potential to be GREAT if they had more imaginitive play-calling. The Penn State game was not a fluke.

Brock and I do agree on Oklahoma though.

Those are some mighty fine picks there LT. Only one disturbs me..... Tennessee +3 on the road at a rival? I am fixin to drop the hook on that 3 and slam some dough on Vandy.

Game is meaningless for Vandy, they clinched first bowl berth in forever last week and it's not like they could get a better bowl by winning here. Plus they may stoll be hung over from last week.

On the other hand, this IS Tennessee's bowl game.

I like your card, aside from the Illinois pick. I have to fade that team. Zook is terrible and it's really starting to show. He can recruit but once he gets the talent he has no idea what to do with it. I've watched an equal number of ILL & NW games this year and Fitzgerald is a much, much better coach. The players respect him, hell, they'd walk in front of traffic for him. I won't deny that the scrambling of Juice Williams scares me as that was a key weakness exploited by Ohio State a couple weeks ago and was the reason they got blown out. I think Fitgerald will have these guys ready to play, and if it does come down to coaching NW gets the edge. Like the Iowa pick, but couldn't pull the trigger. Greene is a monster and their line is great, on both sides. I think that's a solid pick. By the way, I finally read that old thread where everyone was bashing you about selling your picks. All I have to say is I've been on here awhile (I was formely "Bet The House") and I think you've had nothing but positive influence on this site. If people don't like your picks they don't have to play them. Maybe they should spend more time capping and less time bitching. What a joke! Best of luck this week!

Exactly right. Illini has played much harder competetion. They have a much higher strength of schedule. Hell, you only need to look at last week to see that. Illini loses by 10 to Ohio St. Northwestern lost to Ohio St. by 35. Illini beats Michigan by 25. Northwestern loses to michigan by 7. You can go down the list and do this. Illini beat Indiana by 42. Northwestrn lost to Indiana by 2. Illini is the better team. gl to ya, LT.

If you watched that Illini Ohio State game it would be really obvious that final score was not representative of the entire game. It was never close after halftime. The last TD was a garbage TD that OSU didn't care about because they were up by 17 with 2 minutes left. Also, I've found it's bad judgment generally to cap games because team X & Y both played team Z and team X won by more.

Didnt lose by 35. Regardless what the score should have been. Illini has also played Penn St and Missouri. Northwestern hasnt played anyone like that. Also bad to cap a team just because they have a winning record.

Yeah, I never said that I was playing NW because they had a better record though. Other things come into play like D-line O-line matchups, home field crowd, motivation, coaching, etc. I know you know this, but I'm just stating it to emphasize my point.

Its all good, Cougar. We're just discussing the game.

I just think if Illini had played the creampuff schedule that Northwestern has, they would be 10-1 or 9-2 at worse.
