I wish people would say the truth about why they chose their picks
"I'm taking Team A tonight because I am trying to

    a) prove to myself that I can beat the bookmaker,
    b) dig myself out of the massive hole i've dug myself into thanks to gambling
    c) be able to say I handicapped the game perfectly if the bet wins
    d) be able to say I'm barreled in if bet loses
    e) i'm phuckin bored and just want to make this game more entertaining"

I respect "e" a lot more than any of the others.

        b) dig myself out of the small hole i've dug myself into thanks to gambling.

I did much better at sports gambling when I made few plays, say 1 a week or 3 a month. I'd hammer games I really liked and had a decent win rate.

It's a little different nowadays, I tend to chase more when losing, and I like to bet when bored, this is a bad combination.

At least in the past I've gone on some nice runs and turned losing seasons into winning ones. I'll need to do the same this year.

I wish people wouldn't spam the boards with repeated expressions of their man-crushes.

So I guess you know how I feel about not getting what we wish for.

              Mudcat,

Unless you have a problem differentiating a thread title about jjgold or a thread about sportsbooks/picks/etc, I don't see the issue.

The title of your question involved the word truth.

                      Forget it.

I don't necessarily believe their answers, but the additions have been pretty good so far.
