Fast forward to today and SBR has no choice but to cling desperately to anybody who will help them just have enough posting liquidity to appear alive, even if they've needed 10+ handles just to survive in an e-community where nobody can even lay a finger on them. That's the crux of our problems right there, the fact that SBR can't be picky about who they let in the door anymore, which leads to a natural disincentive to post intelligently.
In the past a lot of people were sharing tidbits of good information all the time simply because you would often be surprised by the insight contained in the replies. If you try doing that today, my experience is that the responses come from about 50% pure idiots and 50% posters who are dropping hints that they already had this conversation with you years ago under a different name. I'm sorry, but neither of those make me feel like trying to pass along good information to the next generation of SBRizens and thus add value to SBR. First, I'd have to see SBR get serious about quality over quantity again.
