I swear I might be done watching NFL. You can't tackle in this league. Comm is trying to take tackling out of the game. Modern NFL is unrecognizable to classic NFL.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

If you hit someone in the head with any part of your body in NRL/AFL you can expect a few weeks of suspension if it is bad enough. A penalty/free kick otherwise. It is considered a "high" tackle.

A head to head hit isn't a penalty. But it can knock you senseless without a helmet, so players don't lead with their head the way they do in NFL.

The helmet might save some injuries but it causes players to play in a way that is much more dangerous for their heads.

Both sports are always trying to get safer and safer though, which = pussified for old time fans of both.

As if in reply to this thread, the NRL has banned the shoulder charge!

ANGRY NRL stars have hit out at a proposed worldwide ban on shoulder charges, with Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah calling for a review of the decision.

After outlawing the controversial tackling technique at an ARLC meeting on Tuesday, officials revealed they had already been in contact with their counterparts in England and other countries in an attempt to have the shoulder charge banned from all levels of the game next year.

            Joke of a decision.

The game is becoming too sanitised.

Roosters must be gutted with this news after signing SBW.
