#37I don't think most people here realize how much betting there is on "Special Biathlon."
For those that don't know, this is an event which combines 100 meter dash and fishing.Comment -

A big timer in the industry enlightned me on this so I'm taking his word. He paid a research company for this and other semi-useless info. Maybe Crazy can send the first person who gets it a SBR shirt.
now if we are guessing a single sport for a single season, i'd have to put the NFL up there.Comment -

#43According to the cock fighting association, they are #2 in betting worldwide. But that figure does not include illegal betting. So I win.
I would like to donate my shirt to patty so he can use it as a blanket in his cardboard box during the cold winter. So make it size XXXXXL please. Interestingly, that's Brentcrude's regular size.Comment -

#45boys, i dont know nothing about how many leagues in cricket there are, but did you ever think that with the 5 day long games in cricket, that volume might not be pouring in.. horse races last 2 minutes and many of them all over the world.. if a cricket game goes as long as 5 days long or longer, then volume cannot be that high..
i still say horses cause of so many going on all over the world every 22 seconds with many races, and many tracks and now with internet horse betting.. how can it not be horses.. i dont see how it can be cricket..Comment -

i still say despite what johnny said, that this is the RIGHT answer.. if it is most bets on a game, sure it's cricket.. but if we are talking total volume in betting events world wide.. horses wins hands down..Comment -

I think it has a leg up because its wildly popular in countries with a wholeee lot of people like India. It looks a bit gay for my taste but then again I guess they could say the same about baseball.Comment -

#65[quote=hoopster42;1215673]John, pick up a cricket ball some time and you will change your mind. its about 2 to 2 1/2 times heavier than a baseball, and the cricket bowlers, what we would call baseball pitchers, throw the ball as fast as a baseball. then you should pick up a cricket bat, its twice the size but twice the weight of a baseball bat, and oh by the way, most of the fielders in cricket do not wear more than a small glove, not a huge baseball mit!

Hoops: Great points, the point you make about wearing a glove in the outfield is very important, fielders in cricket are bare hand with a heavier ball coming at them quicker. Many, Many broken fingers.

I accidently drove an all terrain vehicle through the middle of a match in antigua and I thought for a while I was going into a pot of boiling water with an apple in my mouth. Those cricket players can run fast I'll vouch for that.Comment -
