Wow. You actually made a +EV middle. Congratulations.

That's a perfect example of a +EG wager that didn't hit. It doesn't make it the wrong play, however. Assuming you bet the same amount on each play @ -110, you were ~32% for a 20:1 payoff. Good bet.

2nd half went over by 6 points
I was unlucky on the 2nd half bet but I dont bet many units on halftime wagers

If you bet the same amount on both plays when you try to middle like that, all you have at risk is the juice from the possible losing wager. To make it simple, assume -110 and you wager $110 on the o202 and $110 on the u102. Each point in the total in between 202 and 219 is the total of a game roughly 2% of the time. So basically, you are risking only the $10 in juice on a possible losing ticket for a roughly 32% chance to middle and win $200. This is simplified but it is the basic premise behind the calculations. If you make that same play at every opportunity, you WILL make money long term (and quite a bit).

That doesn't even include the possible push for one of the totals...

for the record....I wasent saying that using math to find an edge was a bad thing
you need every edge you can get in this game
I was offended by the slamming of my "luck" angle
my angle involves no science or math
I hope you see where I was coming from monekyf0cker
one thing I will take from our conversations today here on SBR is I will make it a point to involve a little math and science into my grand wagering scheme
and it if returns dividends....ill be sure to stop buy and give you props
stay up

I haven't done the calcs to see if this is actually +EG but I'm fairly certain this isn't optimal unless the 2H bet is +EV or EV-neutral.
