They should handle an inferior Minnesota team at home.

Penguins are nowhere near as good as people believe, they are an above average hockey team.

Minnesota has less skilled players but plays a more disciplined game, as far as coaching goes, Minnesota has a big edge.

              he said above avg...

I haven't really seen too much of the pens this year, not sure how their defense looks...

I do know they are an OVER machine right now...

what is scary is that Crosby and Malkin aren't even scoring anywhere near their goal potential so far this year..

Pens defense is ok right now. Missing Gonchar and Whitney has been tough at times, growing pains by young guys. But they have 7 NHL caliber defensemen, and will have 9 when Whitney and Gonchar come back.

Element, your quotes don't match what I said, I said Minnesota plays a disciplined game, and I said the Pens are above average.

The way the East looks right now almost any team can win.

I doubt the Pens get past the second round this year.

I realize your a Pens fan and don't like to hear it but it's just an opinion, something I believe strongly.

                    You're right, my fault.

But they have at worst the second best roster in the East, IMO.

I know they have some big name players, very aware, but the trend is teams almost always have a playoff letdown the year after making the finals or winning the cup, I'm leaning towards that scenario for Pittsburgh.

Other teams aren't too far behind the Pens in ability and playoff hockey is a little different than regular season.

The way Boston is playing right now I'd give them a chance to beat any team in the East. I know the playoffs are a long way away, but I'm watching teams closely, NHL playoffs are money for me.

I don't think Tim Thomas and his .944 sv % is going to hold up, they are a good team, but probably 5th in the East.

We can disagree, and things obviously can change before the playoffs start but I'd take Boston over Pitt in the East if the playoffs started tomorrow. B's are solid all around.

Most impressive thing about Boston is their determination and persistence, they seem to never let up with their intensity.
