All saw the 2-3 phantom penalties that led to a 10 point swing, but not a peep about the 45 yard Baldwin catch that was ruled incomplete.

He catches it, gains possession with 2 hands, Taylor get's an arm on it, they fall to the ground together, roll, Baldwin's elbow is on the ground, then the ball comes out. Not a word about it.

And another penalty O PI to ruin the game again

Have to love how the announcers took every opportunity possible to shit on the replacement refs in real time, but they're pretty quiet when the full timers blow call after call.

I said it during the lockout and I'll say it again, replacement refs could only be an improvement over the current crop of clowns. There is a reason that they didn't want performance reviews as part of a new collective bargaining agreement.

Good post. Smooth quiet execution of very questionable calls. Seems like they interpret the gray area more favorably for public teams who they want to see set up in future big games(vs Balt) especially vs lowly team like KC. At least it didn't affect the spread outcome.

Absolutely had initial possession. 50% chance at worst it's overturned. KC too dumb and snapped it right away, but not even a comment from announcers even as they showed it in a closeup slowmo

100% bogus late holding wipes out a KC TD
Fumble return for TD overturned, Pitt awarded 1st down and 15 yards for an after TD penalty that didn't happen
Roughing and holding after an incomplete 3rd down, setting up Pitt with a comfortable FG for the lead
Offensive PI wipes out late TD opportunity to win for KC

The refs definitely looked liked they favored the steelers. Also was reminded of that robbery in the superbowl against seattle.

I was rooting HARD for the Cheifs, and there MANY MANY horrendous calls made.
But the play you talk about, I thought was an incomplete pass. After seeing replay, I don't think he ever maintained clear possession.

The phantom LATE hold on Bowe TD was bad. Offensive pass intereference on Moeiki on last drive was bad. Even though Pitt came up short on 3rd and short late in the game, the ref gave a VERY generous spot, to be just short. A couple phantom pass intereference calls on KC on 3rd down kept drives going. Just terrible.
